SIRIUS RPA – Managed System Configuration Bot

Experience has shown that SAP Basis teams are stretched to the limit. The automation of repetitive standard tasks is one of the ‘low hanging fruits’ to relieve your IT staff.

One of these time-consuming standard tasks is working through the Managed System Configuration in SAP Solution Manager as soon as it or a managed system has received an update. After each update, all connected systems must be checked and configured to ensure functional integrity. This often means hundreds of hours of repetitive work up to twice a year. Based on UIPath technology, we have developed a Managed System Update Bot that takes over up to 80% of the manual work. With 50 connected system landscapes in a 3-tier landscape, this can save up to 90 working hours per year.

The most important functions of the bot:

• Flexibly customisable: Configuration of RFC connections per system via an intuitive Excel file.
• Automatic execution: The bot checks all systems as required, only the systems that require an update or specific individual systems. (e.g. for bug fixing)
• Complete documentation: Each execution step is documented and sent to the stored e-mail addresses after execution.
• Simple implementation: The bot can be easily implemented on virtual machines and uses the Windows Credential Manager for the secure storage of access data.

Our solution does not stop there. We are continuously developing the Managed System Update Bot and improving it based on customer feedback.
